DAY 1: HANOI – ARRIVAL (-/-/)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, our local guide will warmly welcome you and assist with hotel check-in (from 14:00 local time). Enjoy leisure time in Hanoi for an overnight stay

After breakfast at hotel, you will start the day with visit to the Temple of Literature. Built in 1076, The Temple of Literature was Vietnam’s first university and was established to educate Vietnam’s royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years. Its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

Next, visit Hanoi’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The Citadel was constructed on a Chinese fortress dating back from the 7th century and re-built in the 11th century by the Ly Viet Dynasty. The historical site and remains represent a unique fusion of traits, with influences from China in the north and the ancient Kingdom of Champa in the south.

Afterwards, visit The One Pillar Pagoda, which was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049. This structure is one of Vietnam’s smallest but most iconic temples. Close by is the Mausoleum of the historic Father Figure of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, and the Former President’s House on stilts where he lived from 1958 to 1969. His former home illustrates the modesty of this Vietnamese revolutionary

Lunch. Join 1 hour cyclo tour through the Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the ‘36 streets’. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It’s a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you 

Tour continue to explore the famous Dong Xuan Market, where you can purchase souvenirs for your beloved ones

End the day with a Water Puppet show. This is a uniquely northern Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history. Dinner. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi

Hanoi to Halong Bay (160 km): 2.5 – 3.0hrs

After breakfast, you will enjoy the 2.5 – 3.0hrs drive to Halong Bay. Arrive at the jetty in Halong City towards noon and proceed with check-in formalities. Be welcomed onboard and have lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself. In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board. Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board. Overnight on Halong Bay.

Enjoy the fresh morning in the middle of the bay, the sun rises on Halong in the morning and breakfast is served (brunch on some boats) while the vessels cruise slowly through the magnificent rock formations and back towards port. Transfer to Ninh Binh.

Depart from Ninh Binh after breakfast. Drive approximately 1.5 hours to reach Cuc Phuong National Park. Visit the Primate Rescue Center – learn about conservation efforts for endangered primates and observe some of the rescued species.

Enjoy a guided walk through the tropical forest, surrounded by rich biodiversity, limestone mountains, and giant ancient trees. Lunch.

Back to your hotel in Ninh Binh in the afternoon. Dinner. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Visit temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-980), and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009). The ancient Hoa Lu Citadel, most of which has since been destroyed, once covered an area of three square kilometers.

After visiting Hoa Lu, if time and energy levels permit, choose to take a half-hour walk up one of the surrounding limestone karst hills. The climb is rewarded with spectacular views.

In the late morning, depart for Tam Coc Town. Along the way, stop to take pictures of local villages and the stunning landscape. Lunch.

Board your private sampan though a winding stream through paddy fields instead of the sea. The boat gently slices through the water notice the enormous limestone karsts jutting out from the green rice fields giving rise to the area’s other name, ‘Halong bay on Land‘. Here you will visit Tam Coc – a mysterious grotto, you may feel like they had just disappeared from the real world to get lost in such a hidden fairy site. Return by sampan to Tam Coc town 

Should you feel adventurous, climb up to Bich Dong Pagoda on nearby Ngu Nhac Mountain, dating to 1428 and comprised of three structures: Ha, Trung, and Thuong Pagodas, in ascending order. Dinner

Around 21:15 hrs you will be transferred to Ninh Binh Railway Station. Overnight train trip to Hue in superior 4-berth compartments sharing with other passengers. Train departs at approximately 21:45 hrs.

Morning (approximately 08:30 hrs) arrival at Hue Station. Transfer to check in hotel  (early check in included). 

Then you will meet with our guide and start the day to explore the Imperial City of Hue. The Hue Citadel is situated on the Northern bank of the Perfume River and built by Emperor Gia Long it was designed for the exclusive use of the Emperor and his household. The Citadel is a square 2 km wall  encompassing 3 walled enclosures; the Citadel, Kinh Thanh Hue, the Yellow  Imperial city, Hoang Thanh and in the centre the Forbidden Purple city Tu Cam Thanh where the Emperor lived. The Hue royal complex has been officially recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site 

Step into the poetic world of Emperor Tu Duc as you explore his magnificent tomb, surrounded by lotus ponds, pine-shaded courtyards, and graceful traditional architecture. This is one of Hue’s most beautiful imperial sites, offering peace and elegance at every corner. Lunch.

Then enjoy a scenic boat trip on the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda (Heavenly Lady pagoda), one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. Situated 4 km upstream on the banks of the Perfume River, it is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601.

Enjoy a leisurely cycling experience around Hue. A recommended route is along the Perfume River toward Thuy Bieu Village – a charming countryside area with shady pomelo gardens, quiet lanes, and traditional houses.

Today, we start the spectacular drive over Hai Van Pass to Danang with a whole view of Pacific Ocean and famous Lang Co fishing village. Continuing to the charming historic city of Hoi An which lies on the banks of the Thu Bon River. Hoian was one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia in the 16th century and was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Lunch & Dinner at local restaurant.

Visit the Hoi An colorful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.

Class begins with an introduction from the chefs, who will then demonstrate and explain the recipes. Will then cook/prepare 3 or 4 dishes (daily cooking menu). During this time the chefs are continually on hand to answer questions and assist you. Lunch.

The Bassac slips into the Chợ Lách canal, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water.

By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit on shore: past the first tree line, quiet discovery of the peaceful life in the delta’s countryside, of rice fields, fruit trees and the welcoming inhabitants, or, at your option, short cycling tour of the surrounding area.

Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river.

The Bassac sets anchor just downstream from Tra On for the night.

Morning after breakfast, we will go overland to Siem Reap with taking around 6 hours. Lunch on way. 

You will pass Kampong Cham province, also called “The Garden City” and the main town in the province of that name. You will have a last stop at Skuon Land for a visit at Spider Village. Then we will continue to Kampong Thom with visiting the archaeological sight of Sambor Prei Kuk, a part of Chenla Kingdom; cover an area of around 1000 arcs with hundred Pre-Angkor styled temples. The road conditions are basic, but in return you will get a great journey with temples, rain forests and Khmer traditional villages. You will have a first stop at archeological “Naga Bridge” at Kampong Kdei, the best laterite-built bridge of Angkor era which is survived until today. Arrival in Siem Reap, check in hotel and take your relaxing time after a long journey…

This morning explore South Gate of Angkor Thom known as Big Angkor, 3km2 walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian Empire, The famous Bayon Temple was an architectural muddle, in part because it was constructed in a somewhat piecemeal fashion for over a century. Terrace of the Elephants is an impressive, two and a half meter tall, 300 meter long terrace wall adorned with carved elephants and gradual that spans the heart of Angkor Thom in front of Baphuon – huge temple mountain in the heart of Angkor Thom, Royal Palace Area and Phimeanakas – impressive rite and sandstone pyramid. Terrace of the Leper King is at the north end of the Terrace of the Elephants, a double terrace wall with deeply carved nag as, demons and other mythological beings. Last you will visit Ta Prohm temple which is a wonderful combination of human genius and natural beauty! Giant trees have grown here for centuries and lunch at local restaurant!

Afternoon visit Angkor Wat temple, the founder of the temple was Suryavarman II who reined Cambodia from 1113 to 1152 and built the five towers in the 12th century to dedicate to the Hindu God Vishnu. The plan of the pyramidal conception of the temple combined with spaces, alleys, ditches is an ancient masterpiece of architectural design and construction. It is time for a romantic sunset view. Have funny time at bars and pubs at Angkor night market!

Dinner. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Breakfast at hotel, you’ll drive out to Cambodia’s most sacred of sites, Kulen Mountain, symbolic to Cambodians as the birthplace of the ancient Khmer Empire. Witnesses the magnificent waterfalls cascading over a riverbed etched with Linga carvings, and then take a dip in the refreshing rock pools rumored to have special healing powers. We will visit the River of Thousand Lingas lying under the river bed, people believe it brings fertility and blessing Angkor area as the river flows from Kulen to Siem Reap. Lunch.

Next turn to visit the Grand Reclining Buddha, Kulen Mountain remains the sacred place local people believe. From the Grand Reclining Buddha, visit the water fall, where we enjoy swimming the 30 meters high water fall. and return to Siem Reap in the afternoon.

After breakfast, you will first visit Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family.

We then embark on a leisure cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. 

Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine. Lunch.

On arrival back in the city, we will visit the old Wat Sene and the nearby magnificent Wat Xiengthong a superb piece of Lao temple architecture, which presents a sweeping two-tiered roof and ornate mosaics including a beautiful ‘tree of life ‘glass montage on the rear temple wall.  Next, we will visit Heuan Chan, a 19th-century aristocratic mansion that offers a glimpse into Lao culture through traditional ceremonies, textiles, and family life. This restored mansion stands as a testament to Lao heritage, featuring enriching exhibitions and a documentary on Laos’ customs. After the visit, we’ll have the opportunity to taste authentic Lao coffee or tea, providing a true taste of Laos.

Late afternoon, we will make a stop at Wat Prabath to admire the sunset; this is the ideal place to catch the last beauty of the day.

The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can find a lovely collection of handmade textiles made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Wake up as the sun rises, we will prepare to join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alms giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temple to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets.
 We then visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace which offers a glimpse into daily life, with vendors selling fresh produce, handmade crafts, and textiles. These experiences provide a unique and authentic cultural immersion.

After breakfast at the hotel, we ascend the 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the Mekong River.
 Then transfer directly to the beautiful Kuang Si, which is the biggest waterfall in the Luang Prabang area with three tiers leading to a 50-metre drop into spectacular azure pools before flowing downstream. The pools also make great swimming holes and are very popular with both tourists and locals
 There is also the chance to walk to the nearby village of Ban Thapene, and explore the hidden waterfalls, which is rarely visited by other tourists
 If you wish, take a short visit to the Bear Rescue Center, which houses a couple of dozen animals rescued from the hands of poachers and traffickers. Lunch.
 Returning to town, we make a brief stop at the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, nestled peacefully by the Mekong River. Here, artisans craft high-quality fabrics using traditional techniques. You’re encouraged to enhance your experience with a complimentary audio guide detailing the center’s significance in Lao culture and history.

At the end of the day, join a sunset cruise along the Mekong River to catch the last beauty of the day whilst the sun is setting behind the faraway mountain.
 Transfer back to your hotel late afternoon. Dinner.

Overnight in Luang Prabang

After breakfast, transfer to the train station to take the train to Vang Vieng. (1 hour)

Upon arrival, we embark on a tour through paddy field areas, making our way to Tham Nangfa, also known as Angel Cave. This cave is adorned with massive limestone formations and boasts spectacular stalactites in various unique configurations. Along the route, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in local cultures by greeting villagers and learning about their daily lifestyle. Lunch

 Following our exploration of Tham Nangfa, we visit the renowned Blue Lagoon 2, where you can take a refreshing dip in the cool water or leisurely stroll around to explore the nearby surroundings. Before returning to your hotel, take a serene 30-minute cruise upstream on the Nam Song River aboard a local long-tail boat (with two people per boat), soaking in the picturesque surroundings.

Dinner. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

After breakfast, our driver will take you 14 km north to the amazing Tham Xang (Elephant Cave), located on the banks of the Nam Song River. This important Buddhist temple is named for its remarkable limestone formations resembling elephants.
 Next, we head to the nearby Tham Hoi (Snail Cave), which winds deep into the mountains. We’ll spend 45 minutes exploring its numerous long corridors and stunning limestone formations.
 We will also explore the Loop Cave, known for its impressive stalagmite formations, before continuing on to Tham Nam (Water Cave). At Tham Nam, a cool spring pool lies at the cave’s mouth, making it a perfect spot for a refreshing swim. We’ll tube through the water-filled cave, which is crystal clear during the dry season.
 After this, we trek 2 km to the Hmong village of Phathao, passing through rice paddies and vegetable gardens. Upon arrival, transportation will take us back to Vang Vieng. Lunch. 

With our farewells to Vang Vieng, we embark on a journey to Vientiane. Nestled on the banks of the Mekong River, the capital exudes an exotic ambiance, blending influences from Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and French cultures. 

Dinner. Our overnight stay awaits in Vientiane.

In the morning, we will first visit Wat Si Muang, which is very famous for its supernatural power.

After that drive to Buddha Park which takes around 45 minutes away. Also known as Xieng Khuan, this unusual park is filled with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues.

Returning to town, visit COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. A visit to the center provides in-depth information about the history of the American/Vietnam war and the lasting impact of unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the area and the efforts underway to clear them. Lunch

Start the afternoon with a visit to That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. Constructed by King Setthathirat in the 16th century, the temple is resplendent as the sun is shines upon its towering golden spire.

Then, enjoy a panoramic view over the city as you climb the stairs to the top of Patuxay, Vientiane’s own “Arc de Triomphe”.

Continue down Lane Xang Avenue the serene Wat Sisaket, the only temple left intact after the Siamese (Thai) invasion in 1828.

Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo.  Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art.

End your tour of the capital along the banks of the Mekong River as the sun begins to set. Stroll along the river, stop to enjoy a cold drink, or sample a snack from one of the many local food stalls.

You are free to stroll around the town for your own exploration before taking the international flight to Bangkok.

Upon arrival at Bangkok airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our English-Speaking guide, then, you will be transferred to Bangkok city for visiting the Royal Palace to see Dusit Hall (Funeral Hall) and the holy Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Buddha), including Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) or Wat Trimitr (Golden Buddha).

This tour embodies a combination of two very popular half-day tours inside bustling Bangkok, It features the “Wat Traimit” with its 5,5-ton heavy Golden Buddha Image, and then passes through Bangkok’s China Town with its typical, red-painted gold shops, next to visit the Royal Grand Palace, and then go through the dazzling Wat Phra Kaew with its revered Emerald Buddha, Golden Chedi, Pantheon of the Chakri Kings, and the Eight Colored Towers. Lunch.

Next on the program is the Wat Pho with its Reclining Buddha image. Wat Pho is also regarded as the first center of public education and is sometimes called ‘Thailand’s first university’. Mural paintings, inscriptions, and statues found in the temple-educated people on varied subjects such as literature, warfare, archaeology, astronomy, geology, meditation, and to be considered, the home of the Thai traditional massage. We end the tour with a visit to the Wat Benchamaborpit (also known as the Marble Temple), a representation of an outstanding success of marriage between Italian marble and classical Thai architecture. Especially for those interested in knowing a bit more about Buddhism and its history, combined with the always-busy city life.

Noted: Photography is permitted in the Royal Palace Grounds and in the compounds of the Emerald Buddha Temple, but not inside the buildings.

Dress Code: Participants on this tour should note that the chapel is a national shrine, and you will be required to wear proper attire (no bare shoulders, knees, or strapless-heel shoes). Shoes must be removed before entering the temple buildings as a matter of respect.

Be mindful: The Palace may be closed without prior notice during royal ceremonies and officials/head of state visits.

Tours on Sundays: The inner courts of Grand Palace are frequently closed on Sundays; we recommend not to book this excursion on Sundays to avoid disappointment.

In the morning after breakfast, our driver and guide will pick you up at the time confirmed, then drive to the former capital of Thailand, visit Bang Pa In (Summer Palace), and ruins of the ancient city of Ayutthaya.

A full-day tour, bringing you to visit the former capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya, situated approximately 75 kilometers north of Bangkok, and one of those destinations, you must see. The mixing of cultures in Ayutthaya began in the mid-16th century when ships from Ayutthaya plied the Asian seas, trading with neighboring countries. When the Dutch began showing up in the 17th century, Ayutthaya became a port city, and trade routes were extended to China, Japan, Indonesia, Portugal, Holland, and France, and up to the Scandinavian countries later. Although the ancient villages of foreign traders lining the Chao Phraya riverbanks were abandoned when the city was sacked by Burmese troops in 1767, some remnants survive to showcase the city’s past glory.

The tour starts at the Summer Palace of the late King Rama V, commonly known as “Bang Pa-In,” which is another touch of beauty. You continue to the magnificent ruins of early splendor that Ayutthaya is famous for all over the world. We will pass or visit all the most impressive ruins of this World Heritage Site for taking sufficient pictures.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Ayutthaya. We return to Bangkok by coach, where we will bring you back to your booked Bangkok hotel.

After a short rest, we will transfer to a local restaurant for dinner. Following dinner, you will have free time to relax. Overnight at hotel in Bangkok.

Breakfast in the morning & free time at hotel until transferring to Bangkok airport for flight to Chiang Rai.

After 1hr.20min on plane, you arrive at Chiang Rai airport & meet our representative (guide/driver), then start to

Visit Temples & Chiang Rai City.

Today we take time to visit Blue Temple (Wat Rong Seur Ten), designed by the local Chiang Rai artist who used to do the teamwork of White Temple before. The main temple building is a distinctive blue color with the new philosophy of Buddhist art. Lunch is served at the local restaurant.

Depart to Black House (Baan Dam Museum); belongs to the national artist who is celebrated for his eerie sculptures made from horns and bones, reptile skins, traditional African sculptures, old boats, Lanna-style woodcrafts, and art installations housed across 32 buildings, most of which are Lanna-style pavilions made from black wood.

Then visit the White Temple (Rong Khun Temple), designed by the famous national artist. The main temple building is a distinctive white color, decorated with fragments of reflective glass that can be seen from afar. Then transfer to your pre-booked hotel to check-in and relax.

After a short rest, we will transfer to a local restaurant for dinner. Following dinner, you will have free time to relax. Overnight in Chiang Rai. 

The cost of domestic and international airfare is not included in the current package. The final price for this airfare will be provided when you make your booking.

In the morning, after breakfast, pick up from the hotel lobby and depart to Mae Sai Town, the Thailand-Myanmar border, which is also the northernmost point of Thailand. Enjoy shopping local products from China and Myanmar.

Continue to visit the Golden Triangle, where the borders of three countries—Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar—are met. See the Golden Buddha Statue and the panoramic view of the Mekong River.

Lunch is served at the local restaurant.

Then visit the Opium Museum, displaying all the stories about the opium and the Golden Triangle. Continue visit to archeological remains at Chiang Sean, the original capital of the Lanna kingdom, which originated around 1328.

Finish the tour, then transfer to your hotel in Chiang Mai for check-in and relaxation.

After a brief rest, we will head to a local restaurant for dinner. Once dinner concludes, you will have free time to unwind.

Overnight in Chiang Mai.

Morning after breakfast, start moving to Chedi Luang Temple, which was built at the end of the 14th century. The great chedi was to remain the tallest structure in Chiang Mai and was once the home of the Emerald Buddha image, Thailand’s most sacred religious relic. Visit to Phra Singh Temple, which was built in the year 1345. This temple contains marvelous examples of Lanna art, including a Lanna-style viharn and the finest scripture repository of its type in the north. Lunch is served at the local restaurant.

Proceed to Phrathat Doi Suthep Temple, one of northern Thailand’s most sacred temples built in the year 1383. It is located 1,050 meters above sea level. See the marvelous golden chedi, which contains the holy relics of Lord Buddha. Enjoy the panoramic view of Chiang Mai City and Ping Valley from the summit of Suthep Mountain. Phrathat Doi Suthep Temple can be approached on foot by climbing 306 steep stairs, flanked by tremendous mythical Nagas, which symbolize humanity’s progress from earth to nirvana. Then transfer back to the hotel for check-in and relax.

Dress Code: Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the temple. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves—no sleeveless tops. If you’re wearing sandals or flip-flops, you must wear socks (in other words, no bare feet). Women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc. It is also recommended to avoid bright colors.

Evening, you are picked up from the hotel lobby and depart to Northern Dinner & Cultural Show. Enjoy a Dinner the traditional northern Thailand form of dining. The food is served on a wooden pedestal tray, called Khantoke. While guests enjoy the meal there are usually performances of traditional northern Thai dances and music. 

Traditional Northern Thai dinner provides; Kao Neaw: Sticky rice, Gaeng Hung-Lay: Burmese pork curry, Gai Tawd: fried chicken, Paad Pugg: fried vegetable, Naam Prik Ong: pork cooked in mildly hot tomato-chili paste, served with fresh cucumber slices, Mee Krob: Crispy noodles, Kaeb Moo: pork rind with paste for dipping and with a starter Klow Thod: fried banana. Experience using fingers to break off pieces of sticky rice and dip it into the various bowls instead of using cutlery. Desserts are Kao Taent: popped rice crackers, coffee or tea and fresh fruits.

Relax while being entertained by performances of Traditional Northern Thai Lanna dances and music such as Fingernail dance, Sword dance, Candle dance, Ramwong dance and Firework displays. Additionally, there are also hill tribe shows and music. 

Then transfer back to the hotel for overnight in Chiang Mai.
